Summer Fete – A Fantastic Success

Garden area with patio

Our summer fete at Cumbrae Lodge Care Home was a wonderful celebration, bringing residents, families, and staff together for a day full of fun and entertainment. “The Music Lady” kicked off the festivities with a lively mix of songs from across the decades, complete with musical instruments that encouraged everyone to join in and sing along.

Adding to the excitement, Bunny Love paid us a visit with a delightful array of friendly animals, including chickens, a tortoise, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, and a dog, all of which were a hit with residents and families alike. Many residents enjoyed getting hands-on with the animals, feeding them and learning about their care, which created lots of smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon.

The fete also gave families the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together, reconnecting over shared activities and enjoying the cheerful atmosphere. Staff were on hand to help residents participate in every activity, ensuring everyone could join in at their own pace and making the day truly inclusive.

As the afternoon continued, the air was filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly cooked fish and chips from a local chip van, providing a delicious and traditional treat for all to enjoy. Sitting together over dinner allowed everyone to reflect on the day’s activities and share stories, creating a warm sense of community and togetherness.

The summer fete at Cumbrae Lodge was more than just a day of entertainment – it was a celebration of the vibrant, welcoming spirit of our home. Events like these help strengthen the bonds between residents, families, and staff, reminding us all of the importance of fun, friendship, and shared experiences.

We are already looking forward to future gatherings and events that bring our community together, and we would like to thank everyone who helped make the summer fete such a memorable day. From the talented entertainers to the animal visitors and the chip van team, it was a truly special occasion that will be remembered fondly by all.
